

Ronnie had been the group's only lead singer since they reorganized in 1990. In mid-2021, Ronnie Booth announced he was leaving the group. In the fall of 2014, the Booth Brothers announced that Jim Brady would be leaving the group at the end of the year in order to form a new group with his wife Melissa Brady.

Over the years, the Booth Brothers have teamed up other groups for special recordings and concerts including a series of "Jubilee" concerts and albums with Greater Vision and Legacy Five and a "Brotherhood" tour and live album with Ernie Haase And Signature Sound. The Booth Brothers subsequently signed with Spring Hill Records, releasing a self-titled project for the label in 2003 and a follow-up project in 2005 titled The Blind Man Saw It All. Singer/songwriter Jim Brady took Smith’s place after Smith joined the newly formed Mark Trammell Trio in 2002. This song featured a sequel lyric to Lister’s popular I’m Feeling Mighty Fine. Winning over fans at events like the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion and keeping a strong connection to traditional fans by involving the legendary Mosie Lister in their recordings, the Booth Brothers had a major hit with a Lister penned song titled Still Feelin' Fine. The elder Ron Booth retired and was replaced in 1998 by former Perfect Heart member Joseph Smith. Over the next few years, the group would come to be known for their infectious energy on stage.

The group name was revived in 1990 when Ron Booth and his sons Michael Booth and Ronnie Booth formed a trio. Ron would later sing with the Rebels, the Thrasher Brothers, and the Stamps. This group formed in 1957 and functioned as a regional group until 1963 when Ron left to sing with the Toney Brothers.

With the addition of pianist Tim Sievert, the quartet started singing under the name Ron Booth and the Booth Brothers. In 1990, Michael Booth, formed the second generation of the Booth Brothers (first disbanded by his father, Ron, in 1963) by recruiting his father and brother Ronnie Booth II.
